What is an IPS file

IPS files mostly belong to MultiPatch by MultiPatch Developers. An IPS file is a patch (modification/update) for a video game's ROM. It is saved using standards defined by the International Patching System. The contents of such IPS files include character/scene models, game levels etc. Another type of IPS file contains a JSON-encoded log used by iOS and macOS. The same type of IPS file stores authorization data for iTunes and Home Sharing functionality on iOS and macOS.
