MB file format details:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our analysis of the MB files produces the following result:
The MB file extension is quite common and mainly uses a defined MB format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 70% of all MB files are associated with Maya Binary Scene. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The average file size is 3 MB with most files being between 140 KB and 97 MB in size. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. The files contain the following words: undef, CHNG, INFO, MADE, ICON, HEADVERS, FOR8, UVER and MayaFOR8. These files are attributed to uploads, jwst, model, face, general, hand, workout, damage and left.
- 20% of all MB files have the same signature 00 01 00. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. A typical file size is 24 KB. Examples of file names are Songs.MB. Such files are related to answer and users.
All other MB files (10%) have no consistent format. Tagged as character, render, fromf, ghost, horse, ball, mask, maya, rarm or walk. If you want to find out which format your MB file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .mb file to analyze".
