Opening MPL Files
The MPL file type is primarily associated with PowerDVD.
What is an MPL file?
How to open MPL files
You need a suitable software like PowerDVD to open an MPL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your MPL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a MPL file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

MPL file format:
If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the MPL files looks like this:
The MPL file type includes various formats for various programs. The file formats most commonly found in MPL files are:
- 65% of all MPL files are AVCHD Playlist files. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are often between 800 bytes and 9 KB in size. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. The keywords MPLS0100, 1und and `00000M2TS are typical for these files. The following filename is common: 00000.MPL or 00001.MPL.
- 10% of all MPL files start with the magic bytes SkWý, which are always the first bytes of this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. MPL files can be up to 69 KB in size, but are often around 1 KB - 30 KB.
The remaining 25% of all MPL files are files with no common format, often e.g. Maple database and READING. Files like these are sometimes linked to system. If you want to find out what your MPL file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

How to solve problems with MPL files
- Associate the MPL file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open video playlists. Because only the current version supports the latest MPL file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the CyberLink manufacturer website after an available PowerDVD update.
- To make sure that your MPL file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .MPL file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
