Opening an NFF File
The NFF file type is primarily associated with Bryce.
What is an NFF file
How to open an NFF file
You need a suitable software like Bryce to open an NFF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your NFF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a NFF file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert NFF files:
- Bryce by DAZ
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. NFF files are often referred to as Bryce 3d images because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- WorldToolKit (data) by IbibloWorldToolKit is an object oriented C library that provides real-time texture mapping that allowed the rendering 3D graphics on classic computers. The program allowed for rapid virtual world development and stored data using the neutral format (N2). This file format is classified as Data.
NFF file format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the NFF files looks like this:
The NFF extension is quite commonly used. The file itself is mainly used by one program with a specific format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 85% of all NFF files are based on the popular JSON file format. JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data−interchange format. It is easy for humans to read and write. It is easy for machines to parse and generate. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. The files are often between 6 KB and 67 KB in size. The file type was created recently. The keywords settings, Form Setting, editActive, objectType, title, show_title, default_label_pos, clear_complete, created_at, above and hide_complete are typical for these files. Such files sometimes refer to form, contact, registration, event, request, application, inscription, newsletter, submission, anmeldung, contacto, feedback, landing and service.
- 3% of all NFF files start with the magic bytes .NFF, which are always the first bytes of this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The files are 140 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 210 KB. The following keywords are characteristic: .NFF.
The remaining 12% of all NFF files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. Neutral ASCII File Format and Haines NFF scene. Files like these are sometimes linked to appointment, online, survey, group, book, free, lead, para or rotw. Just click the "Choose your .nff file to view" button on this page to find out what your NFF file is.

How to solve problems with NFF files
- Associate the NFF file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open minimal 3d scene descriptions. Because only the current version supports the latest NFF file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the DAZ manufacturer website after an available Bryce update.
- To make sure that your NFF file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .NFF file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
