What is a RAF file?

RAF files mostly belong to MyFinePix Studio by Fujifilm. RAF is the filename extension of the container format used to store RAW images captured by Fujifilm FinePix digital cameras. When used in RAW mode, a FinePix camera saves an image captured by its image sensor to a RAF file. This file also contains EXIF information, thumbnails, and metadata (magic number, camera ID, etc.). The thumbnail and preview data in the a RAF image are saved in JPEG File Interchange Format (JFIF). RAF images are most suitable for saving and developing (editing) high quality images before saving them in more accessible formats. MyFinePix Studio, Photos, PaintShop and Photoshop support RAF image format. RAF is also the filename extension of the Riot Archive File format used to store game data archives. The information in RAF archives determine where zlib-compressed RAF.DAT archives will be unpacked when installing a game. Riot video games such as League of Legends use these RAF files.

How to open a RAF file

You need a suitable software like MyFinePix Studio to open a RAF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your RAF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a RAF file directly in the browser:.
