Opening SCP Files
The SCP file type is primarily associated with SCAR Divi.
What is an SCP file?
How to open an SCP file
You need a suitable software like SCAR Divi to open an SCP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your SCP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a SCP file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

SCP file extension format:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. In the following you will find our evaluation of the SCP files:
The SCP file extension is quite common and covers different formats for different programs. The file formats most commonly found in SCP files are:
- 30% of all SCP files lack a uniform signature. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The file size is in the range of 9 KB to 91 KB. The file type was created 20 years ago but is still used today. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. SCPECG. A common filename is 1.SCP. Such SCP files store data about document and page.
- 30% of all SCP files are based on the popular XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. The files are often between 77 KB and 140 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. </ctrl>, <command_section/>, <control_section>, <ctrl type="enum">, <name>expandMode</name>, <setup prod="InfiniiVision", <val>0,"ground"</val> and srver. The file name scope_0.scp or 1.scp is typical for these files.
All the rest of the SCP files (40%) have different formats, frequently e.g. SuperCard Pro flux image, 7z, ZIP, Oscilloscope and LuaP. They are often associated with exported, project, design or disk. Just click the "Choose your .scp file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your SCP file is.

an scp macro script is a special file format by Frédéric Hannes and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with SCP files
- Associate the SCP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open macro scripts. Because only the current version supports the latest SCP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Frédéric Hannes manufacturer website after an available SCAR Divi update.
- To make sure that your SCP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .SCP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
