Opening an SDP File
The SDP file type is primarily associated with VLC media player.
What is an SDP file?
- Main Usage: The SDP files contain the format, timing, and authorship of the streamed media that is utilized by the software. Furthermore, these files may be created by programs like Sorenson Broadcaster or PlaylistBroadcaster for live streaming media or for prerecorded media respectively. The SDP file type resides on a server and is thus not accessible through the machine's file directory; only through the designated program.
- Alternatives: In addition to being utilized by QuickTime Player, SDP files can also be used as presentation files originally created by StarOffice, a proprietary office suite. However, this program was soon discontinued and replaced with Apache OpenOffice, an open-source office productivity software suite. The SDP file saves a series of slides along with their layouts and added objects, often including a master or title slide and content slides as well.
How to open an SDP file
