What is an SLA file?

SLA files mostly belong to Scribus by The Scribus Team. An SLA file is a document created by Scribus desktop publishing software. It contains XML-encoded text detailing the Scribus version, page dimensions/properties, layout, text, and referenced images/objects in a document. Most users compress an SLA document with GZip compression (SLA.GZ) when transferring it over the internet. SLA is also the filename extension of a plain text document containing license information. Another type of SLA file contains a 3D design saved in the format used by 3D printers at Aalto University's Fablab.

How to open SLA files

You need a suitable software like Scribus to open an SLA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
