What is an SPL file

SPL files mostly belong to Flash Player by Adobe. SPL files usually contain raw data which a printer's driver on a Windows machine generates from print jobs sent to the printer. Such files store data (documents and print commands) in a format that the printer can decode and execute. SPL filename extension is also associated with animations created with FutureFlash Animator, a vector animation/design software that was eventually replaced by Flash Player. sPlan, a program for drawing and viewing circuit schematics on Windows, also uses SPL filename extension to save schematic diagrams. Such SPL files contain data representing electronic components such as resistors, relays, inductors etc. Splunk packages also have SPL filename extension. A Splunk package is essentially a TAR or GZIP file with SPL file extension. The file contains a manifest, CONF file, and other files that make up an application. Baldur's Gate, a role-playing video game stores information about spells and effects in a an SPL file.

How to open SPL files

If you cannot open your SPL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a SPL file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.
