If you cannot open your SPR file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a SPR file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

SPR file format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Below is our analysis of the SPR files:
The SPR extension is very commonly used. This SPR file itself is among the most popular common file types and includes a lot of different file formats for different programs. The file formats most commonly found in SPR files are:
- 15% of all SPR files are Cosmigo Pro Motion SPRites sequence/animation files. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The file size is in the range of 700 bytes to 300 KB. The file type was created 20 years ago but is still used today. These files are attributed to stat, signal, data and icon.
- 15% of all SPR files are based on the zip format, so several files are combined and compressed into one SPR file. An SPR file contains 1 to 120 files, the average being 15. Common included file names are recipe.sprx, releasenotes.xml, \META-INF\MANIFEST.MF, \com\ and \com\gap\. If you want to see the included files and images, simply rename the file extension to .zip and double-click it. The file size is in the range of 22 KB to 14 MB. The files contain the following words: recipe.sprx. A common filename is com.gap.restapi-2020-06-01.spr or com.gap.integrationendpoint.outbound.kafkadelivery-2020-06-01.spr. These files can be linked to integrationendpoint, outbound, restapi, kafkadelivery, delivery, maxilla, events and store.
The remaining 70% of all SPR files are different files with different signatures, such as ID Software Sprite format, Sangduck Sprite, Live for Speed data, Chompsters Sprite, Dreamcast VR texture, JSON, XML, JFIF, Schema, Bmp, SDT and SIGMATEK. These files sometimes refer to tibia, sprite, logo, leveljario, sniper, arrow or back. If you want to find out which format your SPR file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .spr file to analyze".

How to solve problems with SPR files
- Associate the SPR file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open sprites. Because only the current version supports the latest SPR file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the id manufacturer website after an available Quake Engine update.
- To make sure that your SPR file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .SPR file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
