What is a VST file?

VST files mostly belong to Cubase by Steinberg. VST filename extension is mainly associated with templates used by Visio technical drawing and flowchart program. This type of VST file contains a predefined layout, configuration, and diagrams that serve as a boilerplate or template for quickly creating Visio drawings (VSD files) without starting from scratch. Vicon digital products such as Nexus use VST files to save 2D/3D skeletal templates. VST is also the filename extension of images stored in the TARGA format originally used by Vista graphics cards. Such VST files can store uncompressed or Run-length compressed image data with up to 32-bits of precision per pixel. How to open VST files

You need a suitable software like Cubase to open a VST file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your VST file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a VST file directly in the browser:.
