What is a WRI file?

WRI files mostly belong to WordPad by Microsoft. WRI is the filename extension of a text document used to distribute README files containing an application's documentation. This file's content is written in Rich Text Format. For this reason, it can be read and edited with a word processor or text editor such as WordPad or Notepad. Another type of WRI file is a document created by the discontinued Write word processor for Windows. Write has been replaced by WordPad which doesn't support WRI format.

How to open a WRI file

You need a suitable software like WordPad to open a WRI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
