To find out what program is needed to open 8XG files, you need to determine the file format. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our analysis of the 8XG files produces the following result:

The 8XG file extension is not widely used. Such a file predominantly uses a uniform format. But the following two file formats are common:

• 97% of all 8XG files start with the magic bytes **TI83, which are always the first bytes of this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are often between 1 KB and 24 KB in size. The file type was developed 20 years ago and is still in use today. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. **TI83F* and file. clibs.8xg or Tetris.8xg is a typical file name. Files like these are sometimes connected to tidoom, chess, acidbase, pkmnred, jailbreak, snakece, adventur, convcalc, donkey, knokke, doom and kong.
