AIX file extension format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our analysis of the AIX files produces the following result:
AIX is a very common file type and is primarily used by a single program. But the following two file formats are common:
- 75% of all AIX files use ZIP compression, so several files are combined and compressed into one AIX file. Primarily 5 to 7 files are included. If you want to see the included files and images, simply rename the file extension to .zip and double-click it. AIX files are between 6 KB and 180 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. files and classes. Files like these have the following tags: puravidaapps, taifun, dendritas, deep, host, appybuilder, view and appinventor.
- 15% of all AIX files start with the magic bytes AI, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. AIX files are between 680 KB and 19 MB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as AIXF. Files like these have the following tags: edit, samus, voice, char, result, avex and song.
The remaining 10% of all AIX files are different files with different signatures, frequently e.g. AIX. These files sometimes refer to extension, flashlight, image, video, enhance or player. You can get all the details of your AIX file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .aix file to play" above.

- To make sure that your AIX file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
