What is a CC file?

CC files mostly belong to C++ Builder by Embarcadero. A CC file contains program source code written in C++ programming language. The contents of a CC file are saved as text. They include C++ commands and references to built-in/user-created libraries and modules. A CC file can be edited with integrated development environments and code editors such as Visual Studio, C++ Builder, and Sublime. Another type of CC file is the definition of a custom class used by dBase database management system. Some versions of AutoCAD architectural design program use a CC file to store C/C++ code used by its ADS component.

How to open a CC file

You need a suitable software like C++ Builder to open a CC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CC file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CC file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert CC files:

  1. C++ Builder by Embarcadero
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. CC files are often referred to as C++ Builder developers because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
  2. AutoCAD (source code) by Autodesk
AutoCAD is a computer-aided architectural design software for Windows and macOS. The AutoCAD Development System (ADS) in AutoCAD saves C/C++ source code in a CC file. This file format is classified as Developer.
  3. Avast Antivirus (trojan/keylogger) by Avast
Avast Antivirus is a system security software for detecting and removing malware/spyware from a Windows computer. It can detect and remove the SYSLOGY.CC file which code used by Spymaster, a keylogger trojan. This file format is classified as Executable.
  4. dBase (custom class) by dBase
dBase is a database management system. A custom class used by dBase is saved in a file with CC filename extension. This file format is classified as Developer. Related links: dB2K and InstallShield Express
  5. KODAK Camera (color control profile) by KODAK
Color control profiles used by some KODAK digital cameras are saved in CC files. This file format is classified as Settings.
  6. Picture Window (color curve settings) by Digital Light & Color
Picture Window is a photo editing program with a library of visual effects for transforming images. Its color curve settings are saved in CC files. This file format is classified as Settings.
  7. Visual Studio (source code) by Microsoft
Visual Studio is an integrated development environment for building native/web applications. It uses a CC file to save source code written in C++. This file format is classified as Developer.

CC file format:

A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the CC files looks like this:

The CC file ending includes various formats for various programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in CC files:

The remaining 55% of all CC files are files with no common format, the following 7 formats exist: PDF, XML and BSB. The category is code or face. If you want to find out which format your CC file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .cc file to analyze".

a cc source code is a special file format by Embarcadero and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.

How to solve problems with CC files

  • Associate the CC file extension with the correct application.
  • Update your software that should actually open source codes. Because only the current version supports the latest CC file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Embarcadero manufacturer website after an available C++ Builder update.
  • To make sure that your CC file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
  • Click here to open your .CC file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
