Opening a DSA File
The DSA file type is primarily associated with OpenSSL.
What is a DSA file
How can I open a DSA file?
You need a suitable software like OpenSSL to open a DSA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your DSA file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a DSA file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert DSA files:
- OpenSSL by NIST
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. DSA files are often referred to as OpenSSL encodeds because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- DASYLabDASYLab is a Windows-based application software used to create graphical user interfaces and for data aquisition/analysis. Program worksheets created in DASYLab contain ASCII-formatted text and they are stored in DASYLab ASCII Files (DSA). This file format is classified as Spreadsheet. Related links: , DSF vs DSA file
- DAZ Studio (3D model script) by DAZDAZ Studio is a 3D graphics modelling/rendering tool primarily used to create 3D human figures, game characters, lighting, landscapes and much more. It is available for Windows and Mac, and the script that controls changes and morphs in a DAZ animations or model are saved in a DSA file. This file format is classified as 3D Image. DSA file format details:
If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the DSA files looks like this:
DSA is seldom used as a file extension and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 60% of all DSA files store the data in the certificate file format. A digital certificate is a unique, digitally signed document which authoritatively identifies the identity of an individual or organization. Using public key cryptography, its authenticity can be verified to ensure that the software or website you are using is legitimate. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The files are 900 bytes to 1 KB in size, with a median of 1 KB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. Some examples of file names are WHATSAPP.DSA or JOHN.DSA. Files like these are sometimes connected to cert.
- 8% of all DSA files belong to DAZ Studio script. The files are using the common file format Source. A source code is the set of instructions written by a programmer using a computer programming language like JavaScript, C++ or Basic. This code is translated into machine language by a compiler. The translated result is called app, program or executable. These files are text files, so they contain words and text. The file size is in the range of 50 bytes to 900 bytes. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Studio version, filetype, DAZ Studio version 4 and Script. Files like these are about female.
All other DSA files (32%) have different formats, often e.g. ZIP, SQL and ProDataStore. If you want to find out which format your DSA file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .dsa file to analyze".

a dsa PKCS7 Signature is a special file format by NIST and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with DSA files
- Associate the DSA file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open pkcs7 signatures. Because only the current version supports the latest DSA file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the NIST manufacturer website after an available OpenSSL update.
- To make sure that your DSA file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .DSA file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
