What is a DSR file?

DSR files mostly belong to ActiveReports. DSR files are used in different domains. They are Visual Basic Data Reports produced by ActiveReports and managed with the Data Report Designer. These files hold report layout and data for business or development purposes.

How to open DSR files

You need a suitable software like ActiveReports to open a DSR file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your DSR file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a DSR file directly in the browser:. The DSR file extension is not widely used. Such a file is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The two most common formats are as follows:

• 45% of all DSR files are Visual Basic Active Designer files. These files are text files, so they contain words and text. The files are 400 bytes to 20 KB in size, with a median of 4 KB. The file type was created 20 years ago but is still used today. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. The average file size is 140 KB with most files being between 35 KB and 4 MB in size.
