What is an FW2 file?

FW2 files mostly belong to WordPerfect. FW2 files serve multiple functions depending on their origin and the software that created them.

How to open an FW2 file

You need a suitable software like WordPerfect to open an FW2 file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. FW2 file format:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our examination of the FW2 files comes to the following conclusion:

The FW2 file extension is rarely used and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The following file formats are most commonly found in FW2 files:

• 65% of all FW2 files are Framework II document files. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view the contents and find segments of text. The files are often between 1 KB and 52 KB in size. The file type is very old and rarely used today.
• 7% of all FW2 files start with the bytes FLASHWIZARD FBK2 crucial for this file format. They consist of unreadable binary data. The average file size is 7 MB with most files being between 6 MB and 7 MB in size. The files contain the following words: FLASHWIZARD FBK2.
