Opening ISU Files
The ISU file type is primarily associated with InstallShield.
What is an ISU file?
How to open ISU files
You need a suitable software like InstallShield to open an ISU file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ISU file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ISU file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

ISU format details:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the ISU files looks like this:
As a file extension, ISU isn't very common and predominantly uses a uniform format. The following file formats are most commonly found in ISU files:
- 99% of all ISU files are InstallShield Uninstall Script files. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. ISU files are between 3 KB and 340 KB in size. The file type is very old but is also used today. The keywords Stirling Technologies, Inc. (c) 1990-1995 are typical for these files. An example of a file name is Uninst.isu or DeIsL1.isu.
The remaining 1% of all ISU files are files with no common format. If you want to find out which format your ISU file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .isu file to analyze".
