What is a JBF file?

JBF files mostly belong to PaintShop by Corel. A JBF file contains a cache of thumbnails used by PaintShop, a photo editing and graphics design software. The Image Browser utility of PaintShop automatically generates JBF files containing thumbnails used to preview the images in a directory. Each thumbnail in the JBF file contains a raster image and image data such as dimensions. The cache file is typically named pspbrwse.jbf, its contents begin with JASC BROWS FILE. This file is automatically updated whenever the user views an image with PaintShop. It also ensures that PaintShop is able to traverse directories and open files quickly. Janome embroidery machines and software such as Acudesign and Artistic Digitizer also save design thumbnails in JBF files.

How can I open a JBF file?

You need a suitable software like PaintShop to open a JBF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your JBF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a JBF file directly in the browser:. The file type was created 20 years ago but is still used today. The following keywords are characteristic: JASC BROWS FILE and JANOMEBF. Pspbrwse.jbf is a typical file name. Such files sometimes refer to front and hand.
• 5% of all JBF files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "11 27 00 00" at the beginning. A typical file size is 2 MB.
