What is a LACCDB file?

LACCDB files mostly belong to Access 365 by Microsoft Corporation. LACCDB files are locked database files associated with the Access application developed by Microsoft.

• Main Use: LACCDB file stands for Locked ACCess DataBase file and is used by Access software beginning with the 2007 version. This software, offered as a part of the Microsoft Office Suite, facilitates the creation of relational databases, front-end interfaces, and reports. LACCDB files are automatically created when the ACCDB (ACCess DataBase) files are opened. The LACCDB files consist of database locks that prohibit unwarranted overwrites in the data when multiple users are parallelly accessing the ACCDB files. The LACCDB files are automatically created and deleted when the corresponding ACCDB files are opened and closed respectively. In the event that the LACCDB files are not automatically deleted when the ACCDB is closed, they can be manually deleted by the user.
• Additional Information: LACCDB files share the same filename as that of the corresponding ACCDB file from which they are created. They are also stored in the same location as that of the ACCDB file. LACCDB files are native to Windows PCs and don't serve any particular purpose on Macs and Linux machines.

How to open a LACCDB file

You need a suitable software like Access 365 from Microsoft Corporation to open a LACCDB file.
