File Extension MDI

File type: Document Imaging File

The MDI file type is primarily associated with 'Office' by Microsoft Corporation. A high resolution, tag-based graphics format often obtained by printing to the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer printer. MDI files can be used by Microsoft Office (but you might have to install the Microsoft Office Document Imaging utility first). If you are going to share files with people who are using Office Document Imaging 2002, or another document imaging program, it's best if you save your files in TIFF format for compatibility.

When windows gives you an error message saying that it
"Cannot open MDI files", this means either:

A. You need to identify a program that can open the file
B. Or your registry may be damaged

In both cases it is strongly recommended that you
run a free scan for registry errors.
