What is a MIZ file?

MIZ files mostly belong to DCS World. MIZ files are mission files used by the DCS World simulation. They are compressed archives that store all the data for a mission using the ZIP format internally.

They include mission settings, flight objectives, and scenario data.

They are loaded directly by DCS World to run custom missions.

How to open a MIZ file

You need a suitable software like DCS World to open a MIZ file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. MIZ file format:

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The files are 2 MB to 77 MB in size, with a median of 77 MB.
