What is an MW file?

MW files mostly belong to Maple by Maplesoft. An MW file is a worksheet created by Maple math problem analysis, visualization and solving program. A worksheet contains an XML-encoded representation of mathematical equations, formulae, and graphs which make up a mathematical problem or the solution to such a problem. Another type of MW file contains markup for MediaWiki or Wikipedia articles. Structured text saved in such an MW file may be created an/or edited by WikipediaFS virtual file system.

How to open an MW file

You need a suitable software like Maple to open an MW file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. Files like these are about maple, math, assignment, solution, project, method, guide and exam.
• 2% of all MW files start with the magic bytes 6D 01 00 00 06 00 00 02 4D, which are always the first bytes of this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. Most of these files are 2 KB to 34 KB in size. The files contain the following words: MONACO and Custom.
