Opening PEG Files
The PEG file type is primarily associated with Peggle.
What is a PEG file?
How to open a PEG file
You need a suitable software like Peggle to open a PEG file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PEG file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PEG file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

PEG file format:
The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. In the following you will find our evaluation of the PEG files:
The PEG file extension is rather rarely used and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The file formats most commonly found in PEG files are:
- 55% of all PEG files save the data in JPG file format. JPEG is the standard image format for lossy and compressed image data. They consist of unreadable binary data. The average file size is 150 KB with most files being between 93 KB and 710 KB in size. The file type was created recently. The files contain the following words: JFIF, $.' ",#, '9=82<.342 and (7),01444. Files like these are sometimes connected to kysgpq, digi, oneynb and coau.
- 15% of all PEG files start with the magic bytes 01 00 01 14 00, which are always the first bytes of this file format. They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are often between 11 KB and 1 MB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: KORF, bmp2_3, bmpArrowDown and bmpArrowDownSmall. Examples of file names are Bitmaps.PEG or TABLES.PEG. These files are attributed to fonts.
All other PEG files (30%) have different formats, often, for example, Peggle replay, Red Faction 2 game data and ZIP. These files sometimes refer to pegasus, guide, user or project. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your PEG file!

How to solve problems with PEG files
- Associate the PEG file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open replays. Because only the current version supports the latest PEG file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the PopCap manufacturer website after an available Peggle update.
- To make sure that your PEG file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .PEG file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
