What is a PPX file?

PPX files mostly belong to PowerPlay by IBM. A PPX file contains a report created by PowerPlay data analysis, exploration, and reporting software. Proxifier proxy client software for Windows and macOS uses a PPX file to store its XML-encoded profile. Another type of PPX file is a script used by PingPlotter network monitoring software. PagePlus desktop publishing and layout design software saves a publication in a PPX file.

How do you open PPX files?

You need a suitable software like PowerPlay to open a PPX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. 10% of all PPX files start with the magic bytes PPEX, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters.
