What is a PTG file?

PTG files mostly belong to Cyclone by Leica Geosystems. PTG files usually contain digital paintings created with ArtRage Studio digital painting software. The PTG project file contains brush layers, pens, project settings, and other graphics objects that make up a painting. Users may export the finished project to JPG, PSD, or PNG for further processing or use. PTG is also the filename extension of the configuration file used by PowerTeacher Gradebook, a classroom management and student progress tracking web application. This PTG configuration file contains the credentials, user ID, teacher ID, session ID, and preferred language for connecting to PowerTeacher Gradebook's server. NovaLogic video games such as Delta Force series which use Voxel Space game engine save game effects definitions in PTG files. Cyclone, a 3D point cloud processing software, saves point clouds and scan world data in PTG files when exporting processed data captured with a laser scanner.

How to open a PTG file

You need a suitable software like Cyclone to open a PTG file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PTG file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PTG file directly in the browser:.
