What is a PUP file?

PUP files mostly belong to Playstation by Sony. The PUP extension can be found in the filename of two different types of files. • 35% of all PUP files use the same file format, which have the signature SCEUF. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The average file size is 200 MB with most files being between 130 MB and 200 MB in size. The keywords SCEUF are typical for these files. A common filename is PS3UPDAT.PUP or PS3UPDAT488.PUP. Such files sometimes refer to updat, psvupdat, rebug, cexferroxcobra and lite.
