What is an SDM file?

SDM files mostly belong to Statistica by TIBCO. An SDM file contains the workspace of a project created by Statistica. It contains text specifying nodes and the relationship between such nodes. Statistica is an artificial intelligence based data mining and analysis software for Windows desktop. Smart Diary Suite uses a different SDM file to save data. Another type of SDM file contains a list of coordinates which define the shape, area, or scale of an object in a scene or map written in Spatial Data Modeling Language. How can I open an SDM file?

You need a suitable software like Statistica to open an SDM file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. How to solve problems with SDM files

Associate the SDM file extension with the correct application.
Update your software that should actually open workspaces. Because only the current version supports the latest SDM file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the TIBCO manufacturer website after an available Statistica update.
