What is a TMPL file?
How to open a TMPL file
You need a suitable software like VS Code to open a TMPL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TMPL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TMPL file directly in the browser:. TMPL format details:
The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our analysis of the TMPL files produces the following result:
The TMPL file type includes a lot of different file formats for different programs. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 8% of all TMPL files start with the bytes <tmpl_if name=loggedin> <td width="550" bgcolor crucial for this file format. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. Most of these files are 16 KB to 47 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as <td width="550" bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="top">, <tmpl_if name=loggedin>, Number, Volume 37 and <table width="90%" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5".
- 10% of all TMPL files save the data in HTML file format. HTML is short for HyperText Markup Language. It is the standard markup language for documents designed to be displayed in a web browser. These files are text files, so they contain words and text. TMPL files are between 250 bytes and 17 KB in size. The files contain the following words: <!DOCTYPE html>, <head>, <html>, title, UTF-8, meta charset, name and content.
The remaining 82% of all TMPL files are files with no common format, frequently e.g. eMule Web Interface template, GZIP, XML, config and UTF-8. These files sometimes refer to html, template, page, email, index, receipt, config or home. If you want to find out which format your TMPL file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .tmpl file to view".
