What is a TP file

TP files mostly belong to PowerDVD by CyberLink. TP files usually contain video recordings captured with Beyond TV, a digital video recording software that interfaces with TV tuner cards to acquire output transport streams from analog sources such as televisions and cable boxes. These TP files contain MPEG-2 video and audio captured from the transport stream received by the device. TP filename extension is also used to save ordered data and finite-element data input files used by TecPlot, a family of data analysis and visualization software. PerfectTablePlan, a seating arrangement planning software saves seating arrangement design documents in TP files. TinkerPlots, a data graphing and visualization software also uses TP as the filename extension for its documents. EROSION 3D, an erosion modeling and simulation software saves relief parameters in TP files. FLAMES, a live, virtual, and constructive simulation software for military systems and vehicles saves its graphical user interface templates in TP files.

How to open TP files

You need a suitable software like PowerDVD to open a TP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TP file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

TP file format:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below is our analysis of the TP files:

TP is not a common file extension and includes different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:

The remaining 47% of all TP files are different files with different signatures, such as Turbo Pascal configuration, Teapot XDR spreadsheet, TinkerPlots document and TecPlot ascii file format. Sometimes used for seventeen, mnet, music or kpop. If you want to find out which format your TP file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .tp file to analyze".

How to solve problems with TP files

  • Associate the TP file extension with the correct application.
  • Update your software that should actually open videos. Because only the current version supports the latest TP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the CyberLink manufacturer website after an available PowerDVD update.
  • To make sure that your TP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
  • Click here to open your .TP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
