TPL file format:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the TPL files is as follows:
TPL is a very widely used file extension. The file type is used by different programs with different formats. But the following two file formats are common:
- 25% of all TPL files start with the bytes <chart> crucial for this file format. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The file size is in the range of 1 KB to 150 KB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The following keywords are characteristic: <chart>, leftpos, period, symbol, volume=0, shift=1, graph=1, ohlc=1, grid=0, one_click=0, scroll=1, days, one_click_btn=1, askline=0, fore=0, digits=5, scale=8 and fore=1. Such files sometimes refer to system, template, scalping, golden, strategy, binary, trade, indicator, trading, black, forex and gold.
- 8% of all TPL files are Wii TPL images container files. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 2 KB to 610 KB in size. Some examples of file names are 01-01.TPL or homeBtnIcon.tpl. These files can be linked to banner, common and strap.
All other TPL files (67%) have no consistent format, often, for example, ArtCAM Toolpath Template, WinHex data structure template, HTML, XML, ZIP, UTF-8, Java, BTP, fetishmaster, ROF and OVERALL. They are often associated with brushes, result, order, show, account, footer or oppai. You can get all the details of your TPL file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .tpl file to analyze" above.

How to solve problems with TPL files
- Associate the TPL file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open tool presets. Because only the current version supports the latest TPL file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Adobe manufacturer website after an available Photoshop update.
- To make sure that your TPL file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .TPL file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
