There's a command line tool able to convert a DMG file to an ISO one.
You can download DMG2ISO from here: http://vu1tur.eu.org/tools/ Once you have the ISO, you can either burn it with almost any CD burning application, or mount that image as a (virtual) drive with something like Daemon Tools, Vitual CD, etc., or directly see or extract files with other image utilities like CDMage. Bye!

Thank you finding that. I've added the dmg2iso as a note to the .DMG listing in the database (or will have on the next update upload).

Without having done so, I'd suspect that the author of the program just set it up to run at the command prompt like the Perl script. The format for that is given as...
dmg2iso.pl <filename.dmg> <filename.iso> ...so I'd assume that the Windows binary runs the same way. Try putting the .EXE file and .DMG file in the same folder then open a command prompt window and navigate to that folder and use the command above, substituting .EXE for .PL in the above. See if that works. |

I'm a Perl newbie and the Perl documentation site doesn't work so can you spell out how to use dmg2iso, a simpletons abc guide, one keystroke at a time ? PLEASE.
In return I can contribute the following info about two alternative methods with the same aim. 1/Download and install the trial versions of <Macdrive 6> and <UltraISO>, then your PC can read and write MAC disks. Use UltraISO to make a CD image on the HDD and burn using <ALCOHOL 120%> or similar. It all runs but the image is not recognised so I've got a wee tweak to make somewhere. Any ideas ? 2/The newest (beta) version of <ISOBuster 1.6.0.24> is also supposed to do the trick. But I had the same outcome as for item one. [With this method be sure on the "Save As" prompt to type in your choice of name and add the 4 characters .bin to the name] PLEASE HELP WITH THE PERL !!! |

Arghhh perl
.Just want to agree that UltraISO is fantastic (though, like a lot of modern tools, doesn't write ISO's out very well..). It should open your DMG file no problem. Just convert it to a bin/cue rather than ISO. Seems more reliable (it does take a little more disc space). |

Thanks for double quick reply !!
If it works for you then I must have made a mistake at an earlier step in the process. I'm trying to set up PEARPC, that's why I'm trying to get this to work. I seem to have discovered that there are 6 methods, now of which have worked for me, but work great for the people posting them !!! For the record the big SIX are... 1. TRANSMAC 6.1, software made for exactly this job, 2. dmg2iso.pl in PERL also made just for this job, 3. Some wangle with Daemon Tools (mount .dmg to virtual drive thus "Files of Type" -> "All Files *.*" -> Select .dmg to mount) then extract or access 4. Recordnowmax 4.5 5. IsoBuster 6. MacDrive + Ultra ISO followed by Alcohol 120% As I haven't got any of these to work I would appreciate a step by step, ABC Guide from anyone who has got lucky !!! |
