Opening an A00 File
The A00 file type is primarily associated with ALZip.
What is an A00 file?
A00 files mostly belong to ALZip by ESTsoft. A00 is an extension used by ALZip and ARJ split volume archives. The first file in the archive typically uses this extension. A01, A02, etc. are the next files in the sequence. An accompanying EXE file, when run, combines the archives and extracts the contents.
- Necessity: Compressing huge amounts of data into a single extractable file, makes it difficult to transfer the file across the internet. File compression software overcomes this hurdle by archiving several smaller sized sequentially named partitions of the original compressed file. These partitions can then be easily transferred one by one, to the intended destination. Once they are received, the end-user can use the same software again, to simultaneously combine these files and extract all the original data.

How to open A00 files
You need a suitable software like ALZip to open an A00 file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your A00 file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a A00 file directly in the browser:.
