What is an APKG file

APKG files mostly belong to Anki by Damien Elmes. An APKG file is a packaged flashcard deck created by Anki flashcard authoring application. A flashcard is a pair of question and (temporarily hidden) answer. Anki allows users to save a collection of related flashcard topics to a deck of cards packaged into a flashcard deck (APKG) or collection (COLPKG). A flashcard deck contains all flashcards, notes, version information as well as marked and leech tags all of which are compressed into a single ZIP archive. APKG is also the filename extension of an XML-encoded file containing information about the firmware of an i-STAT Alinity blood analysis equipment.

How to open APKG files

You need a suitable software like Anki to open an APKG file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
