What is a CDB file?
How to open CDB files
You need a suitable software like Fluent to open a CDB file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CDB file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CDB file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

CDB format details:
To view or edit CDB files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the CDB files is as follows:
The CDB file extension is very common and includes a lot of different file formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 15% of all CDB files are based on the popular SQL file format. An SQL file contains a lightweight SQLite database, widely used in application development for storing application related data. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are 51 KB to 5 MB in size, with a median of 3 MB. It is a modern file type. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as SQLite format 3. Examples of file names are cards.cdb or connectionstore.cdb. Such files sometimes refer to unofficial, release, resto, cafe, prerelease, drouge, skills, blvo and rush.
- 9% of all CDB files start with the bytes DBFL crucial for this file format. They consist of unreadable binary data. The average file size is 11 MB with most files being between 520 KB and 66 MB in size. The files contain the following words: DBFL. Some examples of file names are Contacts.cdb. These files are often associated with card, scan, business, cardscan and visiting.
All other CDB files (76%) have no consistent format, often, for example, Pocket Access database, Mactive AdBase data, Sangduck database, XML, JetDB, ZIP, zlib, CDB, MACS, ROOT, cXM, QeS, COM, xxxCEE and cyanide. They are often associated with official, cyclist, data, nlsy, train or apus. You can get all the details of your CDB file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .cdb file to analyze" above.
