Opening CDI Files
The CDI file type is primarily associated with DiscJuggler.
What is a CDI file?
- Main Use: DiscJuggler is a software that is used to create CD/DVD image files and burn CDs/DVDs. DiscJuggler's proprietary format for creating disk images is the CDI format. The CDI image file generated using DiscJuggler consists of an identical copy of the original CD/DVD. The CDI file is adequate to burn a new CD/DVD without the need for the physical CD/DVD. The CDI file can be stored anywhere on the PC and can be directly mounted on a virtual drive. PowerISO, Daemon Tools, MagicISO, and UltraISO are capable of opening CDI image files on Windows PCs. Daemon Tool for Mac is used to access these files on Apple Macs.
- Other Uses: CDI file extension is also appended to data files created by DealMaker. DealMaker is an investment deal structure and performance analysis software developed by INTEX Solutions, Inc. CDI files created by DealMaker portray the analytical model of an investment deal. CDI files store information in a source-code like text format using the Intex CMO Modeling Language. The hypothetical performance data in the CDI files are useful for planning investment transactions.
How to open CDI files
You need a suitable software like DiscJuggler to open a CDI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CDI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CDI file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

CDI format details:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Below is our analysis of the CDI files:
The file type with the extension 'CDI' is used by many programs, each with its own file format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 3% of all CDI files have the same signature 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. CDI files can be up to 780 MB in size, but are often around 330 MB - 780 MB.
The remaining 97% of all CDI files are different files with different signatures. These files are often connected to sonic, adventure, gengames, mortal, gold, kombat, dcres, dccm, half or life. Just click the "Choose your .cdi file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your CDI file is.

a cdi disk image is a special file format by Padus and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with CDI files
- Associate the CDI file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open disk images. Because only the current version supports the latest CDI file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Padus manufacturer website after an available DiscJuggler update.
- To make sure that your CDI file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .CDI file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
