CL3 file extension format:
To find out what program is needed to open CL3 files, you need to determine the file format. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. In the following you will find our evaluation of the CL3 files:
The CL3 file type includes different formats for different programs. The file formats most commonly found in CL3 files are:
- 55% of all CL3 files internally use the Microsoft Compound File format, which is also called Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. This Windows file format has features similar to those of a filesystem format with virtual files and subfolders. The Compound Document format is always starting with the bytes D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are 8 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 28 KB. The file type is very old and rarely used today. These files are attributed to insanity, backup, show, photos, back, fall, mood and rain, and often consist of personal data.
- 30% of all CL3 files belong to Topcon CL3 point cloud data. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 48 KB to 10 MB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as FILE_COLLECTION, FILE_LINK and CL3L. main.cl3 or 001.cl3 is a typical file name. Files like these are about database and card.
All other CL3 files (15%) have no uniform format. If you want to find out which format your CL3 file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .cl3 file to analyze".
