Opening a CO File
The CO file type is primarily associated with 3D Studio Max.
What is a CO file?
If your file was created by a 3D design tool, it might be a 3D model geometry file used by 3D Studio Max. This file stores data for models and can be viewed in that software. For details, check out Autodesk 3ds Max overview.
It is also possible that the file holds graph node coordinates for experiments or algorithm challenges. Such files, used in competitions like those by the DIMACS Implementation Challenge, store coordinate data for graph vertices. More details are available at DIMACS Challenge.

How to open CO files
You need a suitable software like 3D Studio Max to open a CO file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CO file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CO file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert CO files:
- 3D Studio Max
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. CO files are often referred to as 3D Studio Max 3d images because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Cobalt v8 (3D file) by Ashlar-VellumThis file format is classified as CAD/CAM.
- Cult3D (ActiveX Player Application) by Cycore Systems ABCult3D is a real-time virtual rendering engine that lets users fully interact with advanced 3D animations on-line. The identifying characters used for this association are - Hex: 43 33 44 46 30 39 34 30, ASCII: C3DF0940. Related links: To View Cult3D Objects
CO file format:
If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below is our analysis of the CO files:
CO is not a commonly used file extension and includes very many different file formats. The file formats most commonly found in CO files are:
- 15% of all CO files belong to Cult3D object. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. CO files can be up to 2 MB in size, but are often around 8 KB - 1 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. C3DF0951.
- 10% of all CO files use the same file format, which have the signature c 9th . These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. The average file size is 7 MB with most files being between 7 MB and 55 MB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. c 9th DIMACS Implementation Challenge: Shortest Paths, c http://www.dis.uniroma1.it/~challenge9, c TIGER/Line nodes coords for graph USA-road-d.NY, c graph contains 264346 nodes and p aux sp co 264346. An example of a file name is USA-road-d.NY.co or coordinates.co. Files like these are sometimes connected to road.
The remaining 75% of all CO files are different files with different signatures, often, for example, Ashlar-Vellum 3D models, PDF, MKV, JFIF and MP4. These files sometimes refer to movie, hindi, verse, free, connection, kathmandu, pattern, seating or puzzle. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your CO file!

a co data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with CO files
- Associate the CO file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest CO file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available 3D Studio Max update.
- To make sure that your CO file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .CO file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
