What is a CP1 file?

CP1 files mostly belong to Freestyler DMX. CP1 files serve two main roles. They are used primarily to store lighting control data for Eurolite fixtures. In this case, the files contain fixture settings and DMX control instructions that work with software like Freestyler DMX.

Lighting Control Data: These files hold configuration and control data to drive stage and event lighting. For more details, see the manufacturer page.

They are also used as backup files for Mitsubishi PLC units. In that role, CP1 files store program and configuration data, and are managed with tools such as Mitsubishi FR Configurator2. Some instances of these files are referred to as Omron PLC program files.
