Opening a CSE File
The CSE file type is primarily associated with RightFax.
What is a CSE file
For instance, one common form is as a fax cover sheet template used by systems such as RightFax. In these cases the file is processed by tools like the CSE HTML Validator (Opentext).
Other uses include:
FilExt.com tip: Each version of a CSE file carries data structured for its particular task. This means that you must use the corresponding application to open and view the file properly.
How can I open a CSE file?
You need a suitable software like RightFax to open a CSE file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CSE file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CSE file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert CSE files:
- RightFax
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. CSE files are often referred to as RightFax data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Cardinal Studio Template FileiTV Application Development Tool.
- GPS Pathfinder Office (Coordinate System) by Trinble Navigation LimitedThe GPS Pathfinder Office software enables you to pre-plan field sessions. The data dictionary editor creates custom pick-lists, automatic repeat feature, and numeric values. In the field, the data dictionary prompts the field crew to enter specific information for data integrity and compatibility with your GIS or database.
CSE file format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the CSE files looks like this:
CSE is not a commonly used file extension and includes different formats for the applicable programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 30% of all CSE files start with the magic bytes zESC, which are always the first bytes of this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The files are on average 13 KB in size and range from 7 KB to 75 KB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The keywords zESC are typical for these files. The file name Base01.cse or Basic01.cse is typical for these files. Files like these are sometimes connected to generic, cover, business, regular and sheet.
- 20% of all CSE files store the data in the Java file format. This format is used to save Java objects to a file (ex. save game state as file) via object serialization. Such a Java object may contain functions and data like settings, images or videos. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view the contents and find segments of text. The average file size is 2 KB with most files being between 1 KB and 3 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. Experiment, LExperimentPrefs;[, Ljava/lang/String;L, [LDrugCombo;, datet, descriptionq, filenameq, numDrugCombosI, numDrugsI, numNonConDrugCombosL, prefst and theDrugCombost. Examples of file names are 1.cse.
All other CSE files (50%) have no consistent format, such as JetDB, config, UTF-16 (LE) and STitch. Sometimes used for interreactasia, interreact, general, novotel or asia. If you want to find out what your CSE file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

a cse data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with CSE files
- Associate the CSE file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest CSE file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available RightFax update.
- To make sure that your CSE file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .CSE file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
