What is a D4 file

D4 files mostly belong to Avolites Titan. D4 files are used by Avolites Titan for storing lighting fixture information. These files contain XML data that defines the attributes, channels, and behavior of stage lighting fixtures.
They are used to:

How to open a D4 file

You need a suitable software like Avolites Titan to open a D4 file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your D4 file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a D4 file directly in the browser:. • 90% of all D4 files save the data in XML file format. The keywords <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>, Company, Fixture Name, ShortName, Avolites Ltd, <Copyright Notice=", <Manual Filename="" Summary="" /> and History Date are typical for these files. Such files are related to beam, light, moving, wash, laser, head, spot and zoom.
• 1% of all D4 files are based on the popular GZIP file format. Gzip is a compressed archive file format. Gzip (GNU zip) is only capable of compressing a single file. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The file size is in the range of 35 KB to 67 KB.
