To view or edit DLOG files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. • 15% of all DLOG files are based on the popular XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. A usual file name is default_20180601.dlog or default.dlog.
• 15% of all DLOG files start with the magic bytes History 0: Severe Log: Tick Count , which are always the first bytes of this file format. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. The file size is in the range of 4 KB to 530 KB. The keywords GS3 Version 3, History 0, Severe Log, SysMgr, Tick Count and Version 3.36.1073 built on 2018-02-09 00:58:59-0600 are typical for these files. The following filename is common: GSDKODBGHSTY_20180601.dlog.

All other DLOG files (70%) have no consistent format, such as JSON, exported and CONFIDENTIAL. These files sometimes refer to tools, data, mvts, governance, model, plugin, class, host or qass.
