Opening an EAC File
The EAC file type is primarily associated with Easy Anti-Cheat.
What is an EAC file?
Your EAC file can be one of two kinds. It may be an Easy Anti-Cheat file or an Electrical calculation project file.
- Easy Anti-Cheat File: This file is used by the Easy Anti-Cheat system. It may be an executable or a configuration file that runs with supported games to help detect and prevent cheats. It is managed automatically by the game. For further details, visit Easy Anti-Cheat.
- Electrical Calculation Project File: This file is created by EPLAN Electric P8 to store project data for electrical calculations. It uses GZIP compression to manage the data. You need the EPLAN Electric P8 software to open and edit it. For more information, visit EPLAN Electric P8.
FilExt.com note: Both types are generally not meant to be manually edited. Use the proper software to view or modify them and avoid renaming or moving the files to prevent errors.

EAC file extension format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Below is our analysis of the EAC files:
As a file extension, EAC isn't very common and includes various formats for various programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 45% of all EAC files start with the magic bytes A7 ED 96 0C 0F 0F 12 19 1C 1B 1E 20 22 26 2A E5, which are always the first bytes of this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. EAC files can be up to 23 MB in size, but are often around 1 MB - 19 MB. The file type is relatively new. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. 369<?B, KNQTWZ]`cfilorux{~ and knqtwz. The file name easyanticheat_wow64_x64.eac or easyanticheat_x64.eac is characteristic of these files. These files are often associated with easyanticheat.
- 40% of all EAC files are based on the well-known GZIP file format. Gzip is a compressed archive file format. Gzip (GNU zip) is only capable of compressing a single file. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. EAC files can be up to 2 MB in size, but are often around 97 KB - 1 MB. Files like these are about project, esxpera, calc, calcul, cable and hotel.
All other EAC files (15%) have no consistent format, such as environment and CRO. Files like these are sometimes linked to fortnite, client or fallen. If you want to find out which format your EAC file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .eac file to analyze".
