What is an ECC file?

ECC files mostly belong to dvdisaster by Carsten Gnörlich. ECC stands for Error Correction file. ECC file extension is used as a data file by the dvdisaster application.

  • Main Use: dvdisaster is a program used for the prevention of data loss on CD/DVD/Blu-ray discs. The information related to the error-correcting codes is stored in the ECC files. How can I open an ECC file?

You need a suitable software like dvdisaster to open an ECC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
