EMLX files mostly belong to Mail by Apple. An EMLX file is a plain text document containing an electronic mail message created/saved by the Mail client on macOS Tiger edition. It contains all headers (To, Subject, message ID, Date, Sender, Cc, Bcc etc.) fields and the message body of a single email written in the syntax defined by the RFC 5322, RFC 2822, or RFC 733 standard. EMLX is similar to EML messages. However, unlike EML files which only support plain text messages, the body of an EMLX message my contain basic HTML markup.
