What is an FDI file?

FDI files mostly belong to FIVEC. FDI files serve different roles. They are most often used as floppy disk images that capture a full copy of a floppy disk's contents.

How to open an FDI file

You need a suitable software like FIVEC to open an FDI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. FDI file format:

To view or edit FDI files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. • 45% of all FDI files are associated with Anex86 PC98 floppy image. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are often between 1.2 MB and 1.2 MB in size. A usual file name is gisaid_cov2020_sequencesMar03PlusPreviousPlusWuhan1MinusPangolin1-274MinusFlanks.fdi. These files can be linked to plus, sequences, pangolin, previous, flanks, gisaid and wuhan.
