What is a FILM file?

FILM files mostly belong to Filmkey Player by Belle Nuit Montage. The Video On Demand (VOD) for QuickTime system is made up of a Filmkey Encoder application and a free Filmkey Player that the user can install on Macintosh and Windows computers. Film files are encrypted video files using a QuickTime container. When the client rents a film, the IP is indeed recorded and transmitted from the Filmkey server to the producer, so that the producer can track errors and misuse of the licenses. Each time the client opens a film file, an internet connection is needed to get the decryption key. The key is not stored in the computer.

How to open a FILM file

You need a suitable software like Filmkey Player to open a FILM file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FILM file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FILM file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.
