All about FLW Files
The FLW file type is primarily associated with LinkWare.
What is an FLW file?
How do you open FLW files?
You need a suitable software like LinkWare to open an FLW file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FLW file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FLW file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

FLW file format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our analysis of the FLW files produces the following result:
The FLW file type mainly uses a defined FLW format. The file formats most commonly found in FLW files are:
- 70% of all FLW files internally utilize the SQL file format. An SQL file contains a lightweight SQLite database, widely used in application development for storing application related data. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. Most of these files are 98 KB to 11 MB in size. It is a modern file type. The keywords SQLite format 3 are typical for these files. Files like these are about results, report, cable, fiber, building, floor, fluke, phase and rack.
- 3% of all FLW files use the same file format, which have the signature 02 00 04 00. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. Most of these files are 5 KB to 180 KB in size. Files like these are about header and graph.
All other FLW files (27%) have no consistent format, often e.g. Kivio Flowchart and JetDB. Just click the "Choose your .flw file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your FLW file is.

How to solve problems with FLW files
- Associate the FLW file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open databases. Because only the current version supports the latest FLW file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Fluke Networks manufacturer website after an available LinkWare update.
- To make sure that your FLW file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .FLW file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
