GBX format details:
The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our evaluation of the GBX files looks like this:
Files with the GBX extension are quite widely used. This file type is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 60% of all GBX files belong to Game data package. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are on average 33 KB in size and range from 730 bytes to 810 KB. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. BUCR, Stadium, <header type="replay" and Nadeo. An example of a file name is Default.SystemConfig.Gbx. These files are attributed to replay, race, challenge, solid, body, profile, high, config and system.
- 20% of all GBX files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "G04 " at the beginning. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. A typical file size is 150 KB. The files contain the following words: gbx, FSLAX, G04 Creator, G04 Filename, G04 This file contains layer(s): *, Creator: GC-CAM and Generated. These files can be linked to stencil.
The remaining 20% of all GBX files are files with no common format, the following 6 formats exist: Cyberboard Gamebox, NadeoPak and FSLAX. These files sometimes refer to pack, personal, best, time, attack or summer.
